Sustainability · Green Energy
Waste has value.
Wind has momentum.
Aquillonia Consulting is a sustainability and green-energy firm based in Southern California. We work with partners and customers to develop projects that turn wind, biomass, discarded plastics, waste tires, and other materials into energy, fuel, and reusable products — and we pressure-test every project on feedstock, permitting, logistics, and product markets before anyone commits to building it.
What We Do
One firm, where energy, waste, and land meet
Good sustainability projects fail for ordinary reasons: the feedstock isn't really there, the permit takes four years, or the product has no buyer. Aquillonia Consulting's work is built to find those problems early — and to build the projects that survive a partner's scrutiny.
Wind Energy
Wind energy through Wind Pulse — renewable power systems that deliver constant, regulated power to remote communities and industrial facilities where grid coverage falls short.
Wind Pulse ↓Pyrolysis & Advanced Recycling
Thermal conversion of plastics, municipal solid waste, biomass and agricultural residues, sludge and bio-solids, and scrap tires into oil, recovered carbon black, syngas, and steel — evaluated feedstock by feedstock, on equal footing.
How it works ↓Wastewater Treatment
Chemical-free electrochemical treatment of industrial wastewater — no treatment chemicals, roughly 90% of the water recovered clean on average, in a fully automated system with a small footprint.
How it works ↓Materials Recovery
Finding the viable path for materials that landfills and conventional recycling handle badly — from waste tires piling up in illegal dumps to residual streams with no current market.
Feedstocks ↓Green Energy Project Development
Bringing wind and pyrolysis projects from idea to operating reality: site selection, feedstock and resource verification, permitting pathways, partnership structuring, and implementation timelines.
Our approach ↓Wind Energy
Wind, through Wind Pulse
Wind is the other half of Aquillonia Consulting's energy work. Our wind activities run through Wind Pulse at windpulse.energy — a wind energy platform building 100% renewable power systems for places the grid doesn't reach well.
Wind Pulse systems are designed to deliver constant, regulated 480V power: quiet, low-profile machines with a single slow-moving part, integrated storage, and simple scaling alongside the grid. They have been field-tested over a decade in harsh coastal conditions, and serve remote and mobile needs alike.
- Remote facilities, industrial sites, and communities needing self-reliant power
- Constant, regulated 480V output with seamless integrated storage
- Data centers, EV fast charging, and remote critical infrastructure
- Government, emergency services, and disaster-recovery deployments
Wind Pulse is Aquillonia's wind energy platform — details, projects, and updates live there.
One system, many settings — the same stand-mounted Wind Pulse machine serves telecom, commercial and industrial, EV charging, remote, and military power needs.
Pyrolysis & Advanced Recycling
Heat without oxygen turns a disposal problem into products
Pyrolysis heats material in the absence of oxygen so it breaks down instead of burning. Done well, it converts low-value and hard-to-dispose feedstocks into fuels, industrial materials, and gas that powers the process itself. Aquillonia Consulting evaluates pyrolysis systems and projects across multiple feedstocks, sites, and markets — no single input defines the work.
Feedstock in
Scrap tires, biomass, plastics, or other inputs are collected, sorted, and prepared — size, moisture, and contamination all matter.
Thermal conversion
The material is heated in an oxygen-free reactor. Instead of combusting, it decomposes into oil, gas, and solid carbon-rich residue.
Separation
Outputs are separated and refined: liquid oil, syngas, recovered carbon black or biochar, and — from tires — clean steel wire.
Products out
Each output needs a real buyer at a real price. Product markets, not just plant output, decide whether a project works.
Syngas produced by the process can be recycled to heat the reactor — and, in gas-to-liquid configurations, converted further toward diesel and jet-fuel range products.
Feedstocks
Different inputs, different projects
There is no single "pyrolysis project." The right design depends on what is actually available, in what volume, at what delivered cost. We work across five input streams — each gets the same rigorous evaluation:
Plastics
Much of the plastic stream — mixed, contaminated, or film plastics that mechanical recycling rejects — is landfilled despite its high energy content. Pyrolysis converts it back into a liquid oil that can serve as fuel or as feedstock for new plastics, plus syngas that helps run the plant. The evaluation hinges on sorting and contamination: what fraction of the incoming stream is actually usable, and who controls it.
Typical outputs
What Comes Out
Four product streams, four markets to prove
Pyrolysis oil
A liquid fuel and refinery feedstock. Value depends on quality, consistency, and distance to a buyer willing to take it at volume.
Recovered carbon black
The solid carbon fraction from tires, sold into rubber, plastics, and pigment markets — and a potential feedstock for advanced materials such as graphene in a separate second step.
Syngas
Gas generated during conversion, typically used to power the plant itself — reducing purchased energy and improving project economics.
Steel & biochar
Clean steel wire recovered from tires goes to scrap markets; from biomass, the solid output is biochar, with soil and carbon applications.
Wastewater Treatment
Clean water back from industrial wastewater — without chemicals
Wastewater is the third technology in Aquillonia Consulting's portfolio. The systems we work with — ARTI's electrochemical water treatment — clean industrial wastewater using electricity rather than treatment chemicals: nothing to buy, store, or dose, and no chemical handling on site.
On average, about 90% of the incoming wastewater is recovered as clean water, ready for reuse or compliant discharge. Each installation is customized to the specific waste stream and application, runs fully automated, and fits in a small footprint — a practical fit for facilities facing rising hauling and discharge costs.
- Chemical-free electrochemical treatment — no treatment chemicals used
- ~90% average recovery into clean water
- Fully automated operation in a small footprint
- Meets US EPA and county requirements
- Customized to each waste stream and application
Our Approach
How we evaluate a project before anyone builds it
Every Aquillonia Consulting assessment breaks a venture into the same components — technical, environmental, regulatory, logistics, partnership, and implementation — and tests each one against evidence, not enthusiasm. It's the diligence a serious partner or customer should expect before signing anything.
Feedstock availability
Verified local generation plus realistic imported supply, at the plant's actual scale — not headline regional totals.
Regulatory acceptance
How the jurisdiction actually classifies pyrolysis and advanced recycling — in California, that determination is process-specific and decisive.
Competitive landscape
No existing or planned competing facilities drawing on the same feedstock shed.
Site & infrastructure
Industrial zoning, available land in industrial parks, utilities, and room to operate and expand.
Logistics
Rail connectivity and haul distances for feedstock in and products out — logistics quietly make or break thin margins.
Permitting path
A realistic critical path — air quality, fire and safety, environmental review — with timelines stated honestly, often measured in years.
Product markets
Named buyers and defensible prices for oil, carbon black, gas, and steel. A project's case must work without speculative product pricing.
Implementation
A realistic build and start-up sequence — technology delivery, construction, commissioning, and operations — with timelines a partner can plan around.
Hybrid Feedstocks
When tires aren't enough, the field next door might be
Some regions can't supply a full plant on any single input alone. Aquillonia Consulting also evaluates co-processing and switching between feedstocks — for example, agricultural residues alongside tires — so a facility can be sized to what its region genuinely produces across seasons.
That flexibility changes site selection entirely: the best location is the one where combined feedstock, zoning, rail, and product markets all hold up at once.
Where We Work
Based in Southern California. Projects worldwide.
Southern California
Headquartered in Orange County, California. Enormous waste-tire generation, strict air-quality and environmental review, and — notably — no permitted tire pyrolysis facility anywhere in the state. Permitting is the gate; the opportunity is real for projects that clear it.
Projects Anywhere in the World
Aquillonia Consulting is not limited to one region. Waste streams, feedstock, and energy needs exist everywhere — and the technologies we work with are already deployed internationally. If the feedstock, permitting, logistics, and product markets hold up, we can take on a project wherever it sits.
Common Questions
Pyrolysis, plainly
Is pyrolysis the same as incineration?
No. Incineration burns waste in the presence of oxygen, producing ash and flue gas. Pyrolysis heats material without oxygen, so it decomposes into oil, gas, and solid products that can be sold and reused instead of destroyed.
What can go into a pyrolysis plant?
A wide range of inputs, each evaluated on equal footing: plastics, municipal solid waste, biomass and agricultural residues (corn stover, wheat straw), sludge and bio-solids including manure and sewage sludge, and scrap tires. Each input changes the plant design, the outputs, and the economics — which is why we evaluate feedstock first.
What does Aquillonia Consulting actually do on a project?
Advisory and development work: feedstock and site evaluation, technology and vendor assessment, permitting pathway analysis, environmental and regulatory review, and partnership structuring — the groundwork that turns a sustainability concept into a buildable green-energy project.
How big is a typical tire pyrolysis project?
A common reference scale is about 50 tons per day — roughly 16,500 tons of tires per year at 330 operating days. Installations worldwide range from smaller regional plants to sites processing over 70,000 tons per year. Scale is set by verified feedstock supply, not ambition.
What is Wind Pulse?
